Many of us have noted that nothing good comes out of that pose of Bill Compton. The first time we met U3, the second we learnt about the Ratts beating so what will be revealed this time?
I like the way, too, in this selection of pictures, he is slowly coming into the light — season 1, almost fully obscured, season 3, dimly seen for what he is, season 6, fully revealed.

Oh, this is the “Bill is up to no good and revealing his true nature” pose. It’s creepy as all get out. Even in season 1, when I saw it I knew something wasn’t right with him. Good point about the lighting, UFG.
The last image, from the upcoming season, is the moment when he surprises Sookie and Eric on the porch of his mansion.
Did you notice the similarity in his costumes? He’s wearing light-colored henleys in the both the first and third shots. Those images are almost exact duplicates of each other, except for the lighting.
The actor and director pay very close attention to Bill’s body language throughout the series. He used to do this pose with Anna that was simultaneously protective and sinister. His “she’s mine” pose. He’s also got this seated pose, which indicates that he’s about to do something evil. The utter coldness at his heart is usually revealed when he sits like this, like a spider about to lure you into his web. Then there’s the “telenovella tears” pose, which involves histrionic hand-wringing (he’s given that to Lorena and at least twice to Sookie). It’s amazing the amount of thought and detail that goes into the performances and the set-up. I don’t understand how people can watch the show and miss it.

It was funny in my head. It was supposed to be a funny of the times he almost died (there is more i think) but it end up ‘on top of it’. But then it turns out it really became all the times he maneuvered his way or had another purpose behind his bidding, or fucked up entirely. And then it’s actually very sad. Isn’t?

Eric’s face when Sookie starts her rambling to Bill saying he is the kindest, is not because he is sad she thinks that way. HE IS GLARING at Bill, and Bill looks at him with a look of ‘yes, she is close to me, i can hurt her before you get here’.
